On the occasion of World Pain Day (celebrated every year on the third Monday in October) Sanofi Tunisia, the Rabta Pain Treatment Center and the Syndicate of Private Clinics signed a collaboration agreement for better pain management in Tunisia. This agreement reinforces the willingness of stakeholders to collaborate together to systematize pain management in the private sector. It revolves around the following three axes:
– Training and awareness of health professionals for better pain management
– The establishment of a network of “pain referents” in private clinics throughout the Tunisian territory who can act as a relay for pain management
– The implementation of a quality approach in private clinics for the management of pain. “The accreditation process for private clinics in Tunisia is becoming essential.
Today, it is an essential means to support healthcare professionals in providing better service for the patient. Improving pain management fits perfectly into this initiative “reported the group representing the union of private clinics chaired by Dr. Zakhama Accidents in life, acute illnesses, chronic illnesses, even care themselves, can cause pain, whether physical or mental. The actors of the health system are thus constantly confronted with pain.
Pain that must, in all circumstances, be prevented, evaluated, managed and treated. “Sanofi Tunisia will contribute to the materialization of the network of“ pain referents ”by providing training to the medical profession to facilitate the integration of the pain management program in private clinics with general practitioners and nurses as well as ‘pedagogical tools allowing a better care of the pain patients admitted in the clinics under agreement ”declared Mrs. Feirouz Ellouze General Director of the general public health division at Sanofi Morocco, Tunisia and Libya.
The convention signed today illustrates a real desire to improve the quality of life of Tunisian patients, a social and civic mission. “For more than twenty years since the creation of the pain treatment center, pain management has been recognized in Tunisia as a right for the patient and a duty for the doctors, it is at least the mission that gives the whole team of the center and their head Pr Monia Haddad head of service of the center to offer a better quality of life to all patients suffering from acute and chronic pain “declared Dr. Sonia Khalbous Senior Doctor at the Treatment Center pain.
